Advice columnist Dan Savage and his husband Terry have started a YouTube project to prevent gay teen suicide. The theme is to tell young people who might be struggling that it gets better. There is something to hope for. You can contribute your own video. Here's Dan's and Terry's:

Awesome video.
That's an important message for youth generally... It's a message I found us frequently offering our son. It gets better. When you're young, everything seems so intense, so ultimate.
It's a hard message for them to get, though, because it requires patience that they don't have (because they lack the perspective that affords patience!! -- it's a catch 22!).
So we just have to love them through some of this stuff too...!
