President Obama, speaking to GLBT leaders at the White House.

My favorite part is from 7:35 to 8:45 when he reiterates his promise to act. Maybe I'm a sucker, but I believe this guy and am willing to give him time to act.

I posted about this today too...I really hope that he will, because thus far he hasn't impressed me much in the realm of gay rights.

Hi Grant,

He's only been in office six months, and frankly I don't think we're at the top of the agenda. (It's quite an agenda, considering the unbelievable mess he inherited.)

Still, I have faith in Obama's character and commitment to our cause.

The real issue, in my view, is Congress. The dominance of senators from small Republican states is a real road block. We need to focus our efforts on getting Congress to act on our behalf.

I agree. I'm willing to give him some time. I have no doubt that Obama's legacy will include great steps in gay rights, but for now... he's got a country to fix.
